New Non Fiction Book

Creative Toolbox Storytelling Workshops

Alison will be showcasing a series of new workshops at the University of Nottingham in November. She will also be running sessions at the University of Leicester and De Montfort throughout Autumn. For more details contact the specific universities.

New Column - Practical Pre-School Magazine

Alison will be writing a new column every month for Practical Pre-School magazine. This column will offer a range of creative activities to tie in with popular picture books specifically for early years practitioners.

Storytelling Book Launch Event

Alison will be running a special event on Saturday 24th of April at the Meadows Library in Nottingham, from 1.30 - 2.30 pm. The event entitled 'Farmyard Fun and the Foggy Foggy Forest' will include interactive storytelling for parents and small children, a creative activity and the chance to find out more about her new book 'Reading to your Baby'.

Picture Book Activities

Alison is in talks with a publisher about an exciting new project which will include a selection of picture books and detail specific creative activities that parents and practitioners can use. Watch this space for more information!

Busy Bee!

Alison is flying with the bees at the moment! Having just completed an article on 'Things you don't know about Bees' for the Sunday Mail's YOU magazine, she is also writing a piece on Bee's and how they can help with health and well-being for Natural Health magazine.

New Book News!

Alison has just signed a contract for a teen dark fantasy novel, to be published by Barrington Stoke. The book is part of a series called 'The After School Club', and the first novel 'The Hairy Bikers' is due for release in August 2010. More details to follow.....

Manor Farm Storytelling Sessions

Alison has been invited to run sessions as part of a three day event at Manor Farm in East Leake. These interactive workshops will be attended by primary schools in the area, in early May.

DebRA Creative Team and Book

Alison is part of a new and exciting 'creative team' for the charity DebRA. She will be running a workshop on the 1st of April, and also working with the team to produce a body of writing (stories, poems, essays etc) to raise funds and awareness for EB. Family Learning Reading Event

As part of a series of events to launch Alison's new book 'Reading to Your Baby', she will be running a family learning event in conjunction with Nottingham City Council's Libraries Team. More information about this event will follow in due course.

Storytelling as a tool to Enhance Teaching and Learning

Alison will be running a one day session at Nottingham University on January 28th. This session is part of staff development and will look at how storytelling can be used a creative tool to engage with students, and pass on new concepts.

Come Alive With Science

Alison is delighted to announce that she will be working on a creative commission with a school and also the Botanic Gardens in Leicester. The commission is part of the Come Alive With Science project that runs in March of this year. Alison will be using her storytelling skills to encourage students at Babington College to get involved and engage with Science.
